HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdministrative Order 2010-09, Adoption of City of Bozeman Ethics HandboADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 2010-09 Adoption of City of Bozeman Ethics Handbook Ordinance No. 1759, which was adopted on May 11, 2009, includes the following provisions: 2.01.110. Post Emj!1o3:mcnt Activities. E. Upon initial employment and annually thereafter each employee, public official and member of any board or committee shall verify he/she has not and will not knowingly violate any provision of this ordinance or the rules, standards of conduct or rules of ethics established by state law. 2.01.130. Duties and Powers of the Board. A. The Board shall, in addition to its other duties:... (13) within one year from the date of the first meeting of the Board, submit to the governing body for its approval and promulgation, an ethics handbook for the use of all public servants and the public; the personnel department shall document that each City officer and employee receives a copy of the handbook and acknowledges receipt of the handbook in writing; and On July 12, 2010, the City Commission approved the City of Bozeman Ethics Handbook. This Handbook is hereby adopted. Each City employee will receive a copy of this Handbook in September, 2010, and will sign a document certifying that the employee: 1. Has received a copy of this Handbook, and 2. Has not and will not knowingly violate any provision of Ordinance 1759 or the rules, standards of conduct or rules of ethics established by state law. This Administrative Order is effective immediately. Questions related to the updated Code of Ethics or Ethics Handbook should be directed to the City Attorney or City Clerk.
