Kukulski, City Manager SUBJECT: Appointment to the Downtown Business Improvement District Board (BID) MEETING DATE: November 8, 2010 MEETING TYPE: Action RECOMMENDATION: Appoint one new member to the Downtown Business Improvement District Board (BID). BACKGROUND: One member recently resigned from the BID due to relocation. One new application has been received. The board has recommended the appointment of this applicant. Montana Code stipulates that BID Board members be owners of property within the district. The District was extended this year with Ordinance No. 1790 for an additional ten years. The board shall be comprised of not less than five, nor more than seven, owners of property within the district. Three of the members who are first appointed must be designated to serve for a one, two, or three-year term from the date of their appointments and two must be designated to serve for a four-year term from the date of their appointments. After initial appointment, members must be reappointed for a four-year term. The BID currently has one vacancy and one new applicant.
