COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3629
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA, ESTABLISHING THE APPLICATION FEE FOR THE CHANGE OF
NAME OF STREETS AND THE DISCONTINUANCE, ABANDONMENT OR
VACATION OF STREETS OR ALLEYS.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has previously passed Commission Resolution Nos. 2732
and 2734 wherein the City Commission determined the procedure for the vacation of streets and alleys
and the associated fees; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is authorized by 97-14-104 MCA to assess the petitioning
landowner for reimbursement of the costs incurred by the City in the process of discontinuing,
abandoning or vacating a street, alley or road, including the costs of publication, engineering and site
viewing, and is not statutorily precluded from assessing similar fees for street name changes; and
WHEREAS, Commission Resolution 2734 adopted the form for the application as well as the
fee structure, and it is necessary to have an application form which collects the information necessary
for appropriate and adequate consideration of the request without limiting staffs' ability to make
necessary modifications to insure user-friendly forms; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is being presented with a new procedure to supercede
Commission Resolution No. 2732 and the fees referenced and previously associated with Commission
Resolution No. 2734 need to be continued and adjusted as appropriate to reflect the costs of the action.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman,
Montana, that the following Fee Schedule and authorizationas to form of application attached hereto and
by this reference made a part hereof, is hereby adopted and substituted for the prior fees and form under
Commission Resolution No. 2734.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at a
regular session thereof held on the 22nd day of September 2003.

FEE SCHEDULE "A"
for
Street Name Changes and
Abandonment, Discontinuation or Vacation of Streets/Alleys
and authorization to develop and modify application
Effective upon passage of Resolution No. 3628, the following fee schedule shall be in effect for any
application for Street Name Changes or Abandonment, Discontinuation or Vacation of Streets/Alleys made
and filed with the City of Bozeman.
Street Name Changes
Non-refundable Application fee shall include;
Public Service $ 60.00
City Clerk 75.00
Police 25.00
Fire 25.00
Planning: 10.00
TOTAL: $ 195.00
Simple StreeUAlley Vacation, Abandonment, Discontinuation
Non-refundable Application fee shall include:

Simple fee stated above plus 10%
The costs of changing the affected street signs will be borne by the applicant and billed upon approval of
the name change and determination of the costs.
On all applications where the City has to prepare or contract out the preparation of a final plat, the costs
of preparation of the plat will be a separate cost and will be billed separately to the applicant unless the
applicant submits an appropriate plat prepared by a licensed surveyor.
These fees shall cover at least: paper costs, copy costs, maintenance costs for equipment, staff time,
engineering services, filing fees with the Clerk and Recorder's Office, review fees, mailing costs,
publication costs, and signage changes. Determination of a simple vs. complex application shall be in the
sole discretion of the Director of Public Service.
Application: The form shall be the form previously adopted under prior Commission Resolution No. 2734,
amended from time to time as may be necessary and approved by the Director of Public Service.
