COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3646
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE SUPPLEMENTAL NON-REGULATORY
MATERIALS TO AID IN THE INTERPRETATION AND UNDERSTANDING OF
THE UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission did, on the 24th day of November, 2003, adopt Title 18,
"Unified Development Ordinance," to regulate the use, subdivision and development of land within the
jurisdiction of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Board and Zoning Commission recommended that illustrations be
created to aid in the understanding and use of the regulatory text for which they had held public
hearings on August 5, 2003 and August 12, 2003 and made recommendation to the City Commission;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission agreed that illustrations would be an aid to understanding
and user friendliness but directed that the illustrations should be a supplement and not be regulatory in
nature; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission, at its public hearing on September 22, 2003, directed staff
to bring back for their consideration illustrations to accompany the unified development ordinance, with
an associated resolution of adoption for the illustrations; and
WHEREAS, staff has brought for City Commission consideration illustrations of selected
elements of the unified development ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has found that the illustrations are appropriate in number,
type, and style to serve their purpose as an aid to understanding the requirements of the unified
development ordinance; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman,
Montana:
Section 1
That the set of illustrations attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated as though fully set
forth herein, is hereby adopted by reference as a Non-regulatory Supplement to Title 18, Bozeman
Municipal Code, "Unified Development Ordinance."
Section 2
The effective date of this resolution is January 5, 2004.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at a
regular session thereof held on the 5th day of January 2004.
