NOTICE TO ALL BIDDERS & PLANHOLDERS
The Contract Documents and Construction Drawings are hereby modified and/or
superseded as follows in this Addendum No. 1, and in submitting a bid, each bidder shall
acknowledge receipt of all addenda and include a signed copy of the addenda with his bid,
according to the procedures outlined in the INSTRUCTION TO BIDDERS,
TO THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
1. Table of Contents. Note correction that BASIC ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
are Section 16045. There is no Section 16945.
2. Section 00910 SPECIAL PROVISIONS, 1.09.D — Street, Storm Sewer, and Site
Grading Improvements.
a. Paragraph 5- Geogrid and Geotextile Fabric. Revise as follows:
"Geogrid Reinforcement shall be Tensar BX 1300, or approved equal."
"Geotextile Reinforcement Fabric shall meet the requirements of AASHTO
M288, Class 2, nonwoven geotextile and shall be Propex 4551 , Mirifi 160N,
or approved equal."
b. Add a new subparagraph 6 as follows:
"6. Storm Sewer Manholes.
New manhole rings and covers shall be installed where existing storm
sewer manholes are adjusted or where new manholes are installed.
Existing rings and covers shall be salvaged to the Owner. All new
manhole rings and covers shall be D & L Foundry and Supply
A1172 ring & A1178 cover. No substitution or approved equal
will be accepted. "
3. Section 00910 SPECIAL PROVISIONS 1.09.F — Private Property Restoration.
Note the following additions or revisions and adjust take-off tables accordingly.

a. 5110 Durston Rd., Lot 1, Rearrangement, Tract 7, Smith Subdivision
(Darcee Richmond) — The Exhibit for this property is revised (attached) to
callout that all disturbed areas will be restored with a native grass seed
mixture.
b. 519 Western Dr., Lot 8, Block 5, Western Subdivision (Wayne & Susan
Joyner) — All disturbed areas will be restored with sod. The Exhibit for this
property is revised (attached) to callout that the existing fence will be
removed and replaced to the new property line and repaired as necessary to
match existing fence.
C. 2412 Durston Rd., Lot 8, Block 6, Western Subdivision (Frank & AM
McCandless) - Revise text to read that one tree needs to be removed and
one tree shall be trimmed for construction. Fencing call-outs (two places) on
the Exhibit for this property is revised (attached) to callout that the existing
fence will be removed and replaced with a similar type fence to the new
property line.
d. 2406 Durston Rd., Lot 8, Block 2, Kable Subdivision (Robert & Elizabeth
Atkins) - Contractor shall adjust and repair existing lawn irrigation system to
match the Property line and the new finished grade. The Exhibit for this
property is revised (attached) to callout that the existing fence will be
removed and replaced with a new chain link fence at the property line.
e. 2400 Durston Rd., Tract 1, COS 1855 (Willow Brook Condo, Whitney
Jensen) — East Portion: Property text is completely replaced to note that
there will be no impact from construction outside of the right-of-way on this
property. Remove and delete the Exhibit for this property.
f. 2308 Durston Rd., Tract B, COS 1817 (Western Shamballa, Inc.) — The
Exhibit for this property is revised (attached) to callout that the existing
driveway will be replaced to match the surface type and width of the existing
approach to the new road improvements.
g. 2305 Durston Rd. , Lot 1, Phase 2, Annie Subdivision (Roger & Rosalind
Smith) — Property text is completed replaced as follows: A fill slope will be
constructed at an approximate slope of 4 feet horizontal to 1 foot vertical to
match the new roadway to the existing grade of the property on the east side
of the lot. Remove and replace existing field fence and gate at the east side
of the property to the property line. Adjust the existing 3 driveway
approaches and the field approach to Durston Road to match the surface
type and width of the existing approaches to the new road improvements.
Remove approximately 5' of hedge where the new sidewalk crosses each
hedge. All disturbed areas will be restored with seed. All work will be
completed with the Construction Work Area identified on the revised exhibit
(attached).

h. 522 — 524 N 21" Ave., Lot 18, Block 2, West Park Manor Subdivision
(Linda L. Hutto, Cobh County Cork, ND) — Text and Exhibit should be
revised to note that three bushes may be trimmed to the extent necessary to
accommodate sidewalk installation. Delete reference to hedge trimming.
i. 523 — 525 N. 20th Ave., Lot 17, Block 2, West Park Manor Subdivision
(Ilene Brissonneaud, James Morgan & Henry Ehlers) — Add or revise the
text and Exhibit as follows: The existing wood landscape barrier posts shall
be removed. The existing drive approach on N. 20th Ave. shall be replaced
to a 27' throat width to match the surface type of the existing approach to the
new road improvements. Approximately 52 LF of N. 20th Ave. sidewalk shall
be replaced. The sprinkler system south of the existing sidewalk shall be
adjusted and repaired to match finish grade on south side of new sidewalk.
4. Section 00910, SPECIAL PROVISIONS, 1.10— UTILITIES.
a. 1.10.B — Qwest Telephone. Note the following clarifications/additions:
1) West project boundary to 31+00: The noted existing telephone cable will
likely be abandoned. Coordinate and verify with Qwest.
2) Station 36+16: Delete the reference to fiber optic telephone crossing at this
location. There is a telephone cable crossing, and also Cable T.V. fiber optic
as noted under 1.10C — Bresnan.
3) Station 36+16 to 37+00: Delete this item. No fiber optic telephone is located
on the north side of the road (Fiber optic is T.V. as noted under 1.10C —
Bresnan).
4) Station 36+16 to 37+29: The telephone cable noted and surface
improvements may currently be abandoned. Coordinate and verify status
with Qwest.
5) Station 43+80: Delete the reference to fiber optic cable. The fiber optic
cable noted is Cable T.V. as noted under 1.10C — Bresnan. Telephone cable
is found at this location as noted.
b. 1.10.0— Bresnan Communications. Note the following clarifications/additions:
1) Station 40+29 paragraph should be Station is 42+29: The fiber optic line
crossing the roadway will be lowered or relocated by Bresnan.
2) Station 62+76: There are two coax and two fiber optic lines crossing the
roadway which Bresnan locates at 5' bury depth and are not anticipated to be
relocated. There are surface improvements on the North side which may
need to be relocated.

3) Add the following paragraphs:
• "Station 43+80: There is a cable crossing the roadway that will be
lowered or relocated by Bresnan. The Contractor shall reflect in his bid
any cost associated with the restrictive work conditions of coordination,
installation, crossing or paralleling, or clearances to leave this facility in
tact. These costs shall be incidental to the work."
• "Station 36+16 — 37+00: There are cable and fiber optic lines crossing at
station 36+16 and in the roadway and surface improvements on the south
side of the road that will relocated by Bresnan. The Contractor shall
reflect in his bid any cost associated with the restrictive work conditions of
coordination, installation, crossing or paralleling, or clearances to leave
this facility in tact. These costs shall be incidental to the work."
c. 1.10.G.1 —Tree Removal. Add the following sentence:
"The cost of any associated additional traffic control for this work shall be
included in Bid Item 506."
5. Section 01025, MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT.
a. Item 108 — Concrete Curb and Gutter. Revise the second paragraph to read
as follows:
"All new curbing at fire hydrants and any existing painted curbing for no parking
zones that is removed shall be repainted following restoration of the concrete
curb, and the cost shall be measured and paid under Item 124A. "
b. Items 128 through 137 (inclusive) — RCP & RCPA Storm Drain: Add the
following sentence to this measurement and payment
"RCP & RCPA pipe up to and including 15" diameter shall be Class V and larger
than 15" shall be Class III. "
c. Item 504 & 505: Re-title this item to read
"Item 504 & 505 - Subexcavation with Type 2 Bedding or Replacement
Below Subgrade:"
d. Add the following measurement and payment items:
Item 138 —42"x29" CMP Extension:
Measured and paid in accordance with MPWSS, 5t" Edition, Section 02720-4.3 f
for 42" x 29" CMP, AASHTO M 245 culvert extension of the existing culvert at
Station 9+90 without flared end treatment, which shall include end treatment
riprap and fabric, all trench restoration, site dewatering, bypass pumping, site
cleanup, and fittings and connections to extend the existing culvert and all other

related work, excluding surface restoration which shall be covered by other
items. Flared ends will not be installed.
"Item 110A— ADA Detectable Warning Panel:
ADA Detectable Warning Panels shall be measured and paid for by the square
foot at the unit price bid as full compensation for furnishing and installing
detectable warning panels in accordance with manufacturer's
recommendations."
"Item 510 Miscellaneous Work:
The Miscellaneous Work item has been provided in the proposal for any work
and/or materials which may be encountered during construction, but which is not
addressed elsewhere in the contract. Miscellaneous Work will be measured by
the respective unit for material and/or work performed as directed in writing by
the Engineer. Payment for Miscellaneous Work will be at agreed-upon prices or
on force account basis. The number of units in dollars set down in the contract
is an estimated amount only, which may be adjusted up or down by the Engineer
in accordance with the needs of the project."
6. Section 01570, CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC CONTROL, Para-graph 1.03. No
Traffic Control Detail Sheet has been provided for the Traffic Signal work at Durston
Road and 19th Ave. The Contractor shall submit traffic control plans for the
Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), City of Bozeman and Engineer's
approval. The cost of the traffic control for the signal work shall be included in Bid
Item 506 —Traffic Control.
7. Section 16521, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, 2.08.E POLES. Revise pole height,
including Mast Arm, to conform to Detail 1, Sheet E-9. Also, see Sheet E-7
revisions in this Addendum for further clarification.
TO THE CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS
1. Plan Sheet R-1. Add the following Sheet Note 3:
"3. The new full roadway design structural section shall begin at 10+00. The
East bound lane Asphalt Transition from Sta 7+25.52 to 10+00 snail "tie-into
the existing asphalt edge of Durston Road with a clean cut asphalt edge.
The transition (widened) road structural section shall be constructed in
accordance with the Durston Road typical structural section Detail. Existing
Durston Road pavement and subgrade from Sta 7+25.52 to Sta 10+00 shall
remain in place. Signing and stripping details on Sheet T-1 and T-3 shall be
installed as directed by Engineer during construction to match extended
taper west of 10+00."

2. Plan Sheet SD-1: Add the following callout.
"Durston Road Sta 9+90 — Extend existing 42" x 29" CMP 6 LF to north and 10 LF
south with riprap per Detail 1, SD-1."
3. Plan Sheet S-5. The new Sta 0+36 sanitary sewer manhole and stub south shall be
relocated to Sta 0+99. New manhole elevations are:
Rim Elev. = 4767.30'
Inv Out (E) = 4750.45'
Inv In (W) = 4750.55
Inv In (S) = 4750,75'
4. Plan Sheet T-4A. Add attached Plan Sheet T-4A for the Advance Warning Flasher.
5. Plan Sheets E-2 & E-3. Bidders are advised that some fractional dimensions are
missing on these plan details. Said dimensions shall conform to the corresponding
details in the MDT standards referenced in the contract documents.
6. Plan Sheet E-7 - Luminaire Schedule. The total 38' pole height shall be measured
from pole base to luminaire face as shown on Detail 1, Sheet E-9.
7. Plan Sheet E-9, Detail 2. Add detail note: Branch circuit and conduit shall be
located at the back of curb at the bury depth shown.
