Kukulski, City Manager SUBJECT: (Re)Appointment to the Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District (BTBID) Board of Trustees MEETING DATE: August 09, 2010 AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Action Item RECOMMENDATION: Appoint one new member OR reappoint one member to the BTBID Board of Trustees. BACKGROUND: The Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District Board of Trustees has one term that expired on July 31, 2010. The member with an expiring term has reapplied and one new application has been received. In August, 2009 the City Commission created the BTBID Board to manage the newly created District (Cht. 2.90, BMC). The mission of the Board is to promote tourism that generates room nights for lodging facilities in the city of Bozeman, Montana by effectively marketing the region as a preferred travel destination. Initial terms on the Board were staggered. The first term expiration took place on July 31, 2010. After initial terms, members are appointed for four years. Board appointees must either be a property owner within the District or the duly authorized designee of an owner of property within the District. Both the reapplying applicant and new applicant have been verified for this requirement. The Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District Board of Trustees currently has one expired term and a reapplying and new applicant.
