Commission Memorandum
REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission
FROM: Aimee Kissel, Deputy City Clerk
Stacy Ulmen, City Clerk
Chris Kukulski, City Manager
SUBJECT: Referral for Appointment to the Gallatin County Mental Health
Local Advisory Council (LAC)
MEETING DATE: July 19, 2010
MEETING TYPE: Action
RECOMMENDATION: Refer Staff Attorney Susan Wordal for appointment to the Gallatin
County Mental Health Local Advisory Council.
BACKGROUND: This County Council has a vacancy for a City Commissioner or
their designee. Former City Commissioner Eric Bryson served in this capacity in the past. After
inquiring, it was determined that none of the Commissioners have expressed interest in serving
on this board. Therefore staff would recommend Staff Attorney, Susan Wordal as her expertise
in this field should serve the Council well.
The Gallatin County Mental Health Local Advisory Council was created in 2009. The purpose
of the LAC is to assist in the improvement of public mental health services in the local
community and to review and make recommendations to MHOAC and the SAA serving the
community.
The Gallatin County Commission shall appoint no more than 21 members to the LAC
representing a variety of stakeholders.
This board currently has one vacancy for a City Commissioner or his/her designee.
