Samples of the PACM were taken to a third party.agency where the test results came back positive for ACM. A representative from Environmental Contractors, Inc. (Certified Abatement Contractor) visited the site on 11/24/09 and determined that the material was wet/non friable /outdoor, so abatement permitting is not required. Montana DEQ was also notified and agreed no additional permitting was required, but wanted to ensure a certified abatement contractor was on site to ensure proper disposal of the materials. The following abatement plan is being purposed: -EC representative will be onsite Monday 11/30 to start monitoring the process. He will bring truck liner bags for Sime's laborer to place in dump truck beds. -Same will begin excavating and place materials in lined truck beds. Once the truck is filled, ECI will assist in ensuring the bags are sealed and labeled properly. -Sime will then take the material to Logan Landfill (an EC representative does not need to accompany Sime to the landfill and Logan will take the material as long as the bags are properly sealed /labeled). -This process will repeat for each truck. BNB proposes to perform this work on a T &M basis per the attached rates and we anticipate an approximate ROM of $10 -12K. BNB will track quantities /tickets and provide the Owners /Architects with a daily status update. Please provide confirmation that this is acceptable.
