SUBJECT: Commission Resolution No. 4242 – Federal Funding Assistance
MEETING DATE: February 8, 2010
AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Action
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Resolution No. 4242, with changes as the Commission
chooses.
BACKGROUND: Our Congressional Delegation requires that formal applications for
Federal Appropriations Requests for Federal Fiscal Year 2011 (FFY2011) be submitted to their
offices by March 1, 2010. The attached Federal Funding Assistance resolution will identify the
items we request and be utilized in the application process with Senator’s Baucus and Tester, and
Representative Rehberg.
Last year’s resolution was comprised of the following items:
1. Reconstruction of the Municipal Water Reclamation Facility for the treatment of wastewater;
2. Reconstruction of the Municipal Water Treatment Facility;
3. College Street Upgrades from South 11th Avenue west to Main Street;
4. Kagy Boulevard Upgrades from South Willson Avenue west to South 19th Avenue;
5. Watershed Protection to safely open winter access to Hyalite Canyon to include guard rails
and public restrooms;
The Delegation also allowed the City to submit a mid-March request for:
6. Assistance for Downtown Blast-Damaged Properties.

FISCAL EFFECTS: There are no immediate fiscal effects. Federal funding received usually
reduces the amount of money the City must dedicate to important projects.

COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 4242
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN, MONTANA, REQUESTING FEDERAL FUNDING.
WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman has prioritized its critical projects for the upcoming year;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman has set aside millions of dollars in Development Impact
Fees and rate-payer funds for upgrades to our Water Reclamation Facility (Wastewater Treatment
Plant), Water Treatment Plant, and road networks;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman,
Montana, that the City of Bozeman is requesting Federal Funding Assistance for:
