BACKGROUND: Two terms on the Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board expired on December 31, 2009. One new applicant has applied. The board members feel Ms. Tombre would be a great addition to the board. The Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board was created under Resolution No. 2782 (adopted by the City Commission on August 20, 1990), revised by Ordinance 1521 (adopted by the City Commission on August 7, 2000) and Ordinance No. 1748 (adopted by the City Commission on October 6, 2008). This board is comprised of seven members, appointed to staggered two-year terms. A minimum of five of the members must reside within city limits. Unless prohibited by the bylaws, each member may be reappointed without limitation on the number of reappointments. Members shall serve two-year staggered terms. The board is advisory to the Commission, making recommendations on matters regarding senior citizen issues. This board currently has two vacancies and one applicant.
