This cancellation was unanimously approved by the BID Board. The next meeting is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2010. Executive Director’s Report Downtown Business Improvement District Board December 16, 2009 Downtown Improvement Plan th On December 14, the Bozeman City Commission unanimously voted to adopt the 2009 Downtown Bozeman Improvement Plan. The Commissioners praised the hard work of the Downtown Partnership, the advisory committee and the downtown boards for developing the plan with considerable public involvement and input. Currently, the BID has $10,000 allocated to the Downtown Partnership for implementation of the Downtown Plan. These BID funds have been matched by the City of Bozeman. In January, the board will discuss the “Next Step” projects and how best to invest these funds. Advisory Board Financial Disclosure The City of Bozeman will be requiring the members of certain Citizen Advisory Boards complete financial disclosure statements in an effort to transparently avoid conflicts of interest. The following boards will be required to complete disclosures: Downtown Tax Increment Finance Board, Downtown Business Improvement District Board, Parking Commission, Library Board, Board of Adjustments, and Park and Recreation Board. The City Clerk’s Office will be sending out information packets including the disclosure form shortly after the New Year. DBP Office Sublease Effective December 1, 2009 Prospera Business Network has leased the vacant office from the Downtown Partnership. Prospera and DBP will share the use of the conference room. The monthly rent is $300. This lease will yield $2100 in revenue over the remainder of this fiscal year. The DBP plans to purchase new chairs for the conference room with a small portion of these revenues. Holiday Lights Update th The holiday lights and decorations are scheduled to be removed the week of January 5. The th Christmas Spiders will be taken down on Monday the 5. The wreaths and lamp pole garland will be removed later in the week. I placed a thank-you ad in the Downtown Newspaper and the Chronicle listing the volunteers who install the lights and the lamp post holiday sponsor businesses. Board Vacancy Update Don McLaughlin, Place Architecture, has submitted an application for the BID board. If appointed, he would fill the seat vacated by Dan Harding which expires in June of 2011. I met with Don several weeks ago and he was very excited about the opportunity to join the board. In our short conversation, he had several great ideas as they relate to the Downtown Plan and the BID programs. I will update the board when his application will be before the City Commission. I will also write a letter on behalf of the BID board in support of Don’s application and appointment.
