RECOMMENDATION: Re-appoint four applicants and appoint one new student applicant
listed below to the Recreation and Parks Advisory Board.
BACKGROUND: The Recreation and Parks Advisory Board currently has four terms which
expired December 31, 2009 and one student representative one-year position vacant. All four
expiring members re-applied along with a new application from a student.
The Recreation and Parks Advisory Board is established under Section 2.36.030 of the Bozeman
Municipal Code. It consists of up to fourteen members who serve three-year terms, except for
the two students, who serve one-year terms. They shall represent as many facets of recreational
programs as possible.
A majority of the members, regardless of the Board's size, shall be residents of the City. The
Board is advisory, making recommendations to the City Commission on policy and procedural
matters in the field of recreation and playgrounds as well as parkland dedications or cash-in-lieu
proposals forwarded during the planning/subdivision process.
This board currently has four expired terms and one student vacancy with five
applications.

In the short time I have lived in Bozeman, I have been impressed with the parks system throughout the city. I am
interested in helping the parks system grow and further equal use opportunities by all. This interest is based on several
permitted uses of the park that have ended in frustration and I feel the best way to eliminate this frustration for future
users is to get involved.
