The City staff contact is Assistant Planning Director Chris Saunders at 582-2267. This Board has 6 current vacancies. One vacancy for a certified public accountant, two vacancies for a citizen of Bozeman not employed in the development industry, one vacancy for a land developer, one vacancy for a general citizen, one vacancy for a builder. In 1996, the City of Bozeman adopted Ordinance No. 1414 establishing impact fees. In the 2005 session, the Montana State Legislature adopted a law (7-6-1604, Montana Code Annotated) establishing requirements for adopting or amending impact fees. State law required an Impact Fee Advisory Committee to review and monitor the process of calculating, assessing, and spending impact fees. Consequently, Resolution No. 3840, approved by the City Commission on September 6, 2005, established the composition of the Impact Fee Advisory Committee required by statute. According to Resolution No. 3840, Sections 1 and 2, "An Impact Fee Advisory Committee was created for the purpose of advising the City Commission regarding the process of calculating, assessing, and spending impact fees. The Impact Fee Advisory Board shall consist of nine members to be appointed by the City Commission. The members shall be: the City Engineer; the City Finance Director; a certified public accountant who shall hold no other public office or employment; 1 builder; 1 land developer; 2 citizens of Bozeman not employed in the development industry; and 2 other members as selected by the City Commission. Upon the creation of the Committee, the members shall be appointed for the following terms: public officers and employees during the terms of their office, four members that hold no public office or employment for a term of two years, three members that hold no public office or employment for a term of three years. The terms shall expire on the first day of January of the second and third year, respectively, following appointment. Thereafter, as terms expire, each new appointment shall be for a term of two years. A majority of members must be residents of the City of Bozeman.  The Committee will act in an advisory capacity to the City Commission."
