Board of Appeals Minutes This board currently has one vacancy and two vacancies for alternate positions. The Board of Appeals was established under Commission Resolution No. 2483, adopted October 3, 1983 to determine the suitability of alternate materials and methods of construction and to provide reasonable interpretation of the following codes of the City of Bozeman:  Building Code, Electrical Code, Mechanical Code, and Plumbing Code. The Board of Appeals shall consist of five members appointed by the City Commission and serving without compensation, who are qualified by experience and training to pass upon matters pertaining to building construction. The Building Official shall be an ex-officio member and shall act as Secretary of the Board. The initial terms of office were as follows: one appointed for one year, two appointed for two years, and two appointed for three years. Succeeding appointments are for a period of three years. The Board of Appeals shall adopt reasonable written rules and regulations for conducting its business, hear appeals not more than thirty (30) days after filing thereof, and render all decisions and findings in writing to the appellant with a copy to the Building Official.
