HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-09, Park Dept Report Park Report November 09 Crews have been busy mulching leaves, winterizing and  storing equipment, bringing in picnic tables, applying the fall fertilizer to the turf and, of course, daily maintenance routines like dog stations and restrooms. (The Pond, The East, Bogert, South Side and Beall are year-a-round restrooms.) The perception typically is “ this is the slow time of year for the  Parks Division” –yet- in reality, it is very busy time trying to take advantage of the good weather and on the flip side……..dealing with mother nature in regards to snow storms and plowing. A couple examples of taking advantage of good weather: is  getting the Snowfill and cemetery land mowed down for BSF and the completion of the Kirk restrooms!! The Kirk restroom had been charged up to see in if everything  is working properly and will be winterize tomorrow and is ready to go for next spring. It is very nice! Much thanks to Mark Meissner and PC Development in pulling off such a great project. On the October 22 tennis court meeting…………it was nd unanimous- the Versacourt snap in tile system was the overwhelming favorite and that is how we are proceeding. My only challenge is trying to follow the purchasing policy in getting the product ordered and the labor bidded. Etc….. and do it in a timely manner. User groups have all completed their seasons.  We had some vandalism on the Linear trail- somebody drove  their truck down the trail and ultimately, off the bridge, into the creek just north of Garfield St. A wrecker had to pluck out the truck and the hazmat team mitigated the oil and gas that seeped into creek.
