HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-09, Park Dept Report Park Report October 09 Crews are busy with the transition from hot to cold.  Equipment is starting to be winterized, mowing decks are converted to mulching decks for leaves, irrigation systems are being blown out, restrooms are being shut, fall fertilization will commence once the weather stabilizes, winter equipment is readied, -while garbage and dog stations are still very steady. What makes this a huge challenge is we have all of three  seasonals still working. The Kirk restroom project is proceeding nicely- we are two  weeks out, as far as estimated completion. The College street ROW trail is completed for the most part  with a few touch ups next spring. The Christie infields have been stripped of sod, re-graded and  re-sodded- just in time for the snow. Stimulus money will be spent on the tennis courts at Bogert-  this is good and bad (location)- we are weighing are options- and are having a public meeting October 22, here at 6 PM. nd To discuss the options, etc…….. With 25% of the budget year gone, the final budget has been  approved. User group agreements with YMCA flag football at the  Complex, AYSO soccer at Bronken and Lion’s Club football At Christie. Exploring what to do about the hockey boards at Bogert-  rumor has it that the boards we used in the past have been sold- and BAHA wants $20,000 for the ones they have in reserve. PIG grants are now going to have to follow the City’s  purchasing policy- workshop possible?? Park Tour- week of the 19?? th
