Box 1230·Bozeman, MT·59771 Subdivision Review Story Mansion Subdivision Project: September 25, 2009 Date: Doug Riley Planner: The purpose of this subdivision proposal is to separate the Comments: buildings on the block from the open space. It’s following up on the Commission's earlier direction to formally declare the "open space" (i.e. proposed Lot 1A-2) dedicated parkland to make a commitment to the community to permanently protect it from development beyond that would be (Doug Riley) the case without declaring it parkland. Effect: Makes sale of mansion easier, sale of park more difficult. Allows uses of building not permitted in parkland (e.g. offices) Draws the distinction between the park – administered by the Parks Division and the Mansion – administered by the Recreation Division  A park master plan for the subdivided park will not include amenities for the buildings. Options:  It's up to you if you want the RPAB to make an official statement. Perhaps just indicating that the RPAB would like input (which will happen anyway) on any future development/improvements on the (Doug Riley) parkland area once it created, (e.g. gazebo, etc.). If there is feeling on the board that this proposal should be challenged or endorsed, we have that opportunity.
