COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 4214
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA, TO SET THE SPEED LIMIT ON NORTHFERGUSON AVENUE
AT 35 M.P.H. FROM DURSTON ROAD TO WEST OAK STREET.
WHEREAS
,the Bozeman Police Department requested that the Director of Public Service
determine if the existing posted speed limit of 25 M.P.H. on NorthFerguson Avenue from Durston Road to
West Oak Street is the appropriate speed limit for this roadway; and
WHEREAS
,Ordinance No. 1758 allows for the altering of speed limits on the basis of an
engineering and traffic investigation, and upon the concurrence with the recommendation of the City
Engineer, the Bozeman City Commission shall adopt a Resolution to determine and declare a reasonable and
safe prima facie speed limit which shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are
erected; and
WHEREAS
, a speed study on NorthFerguson Avenue from Durston Road to West Oak Street
was conducted by the City of Bozeman Engineering Division, which showed that 35 M.P.H. is the
appropriate speed limit for this portion of North Ferguson Avenue; and
WHEREAS
, the City Engineer concurred with the recommendation to set the speed limit at 35
M.P.H. on this portion of North Ferguson Avenue;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman,
Montana: to set the speed limit on NorthFerguson Avenue from Durston Road to West Oak Street at 35
M.P.H.
PASSED AND ADOPTED
by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at a
regular session thereof held on the 9th day of November, 2009.
