GEM - GLOBAL ELECTRIC MOTORCARS' About Global Electric Motorcars Global Electric Motorcars (GEM), a DaimlerChrysler company, has been in operation for almost ten years. Located in Fargo, North Dakota, GEM manufactured its first vehicle in April 1998, a 48-volt GEM vehicle that accommodated two passengers and had a top speed of 20 mph. Less than two months later, a significant breakthrough occurred in the market as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) designated a new class of motor vehicle, the low-speed vehicle, also known as the Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV). The low-speed vehicle class allowed GEM vehicles to be driven on public roads if they met certain safety criteria such as having safety belts, headlamps, windshield wipers, and safety glass. GEM vehicles always come equipped With these safety features making them a benchmark in the industry. GEM battery-electric vehicles not only represent a relatively new vehicle in an emerging market segment, but also a new and growing brand within the DaimlerChrysler family. Just like Mercedes, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep®, or many of the other well-established brands in the company's portfolio, GEM stands for innovation and leadership. GEM aims to establish its brand presence both as the maker of the top-selling NEV in the market and the purveyor of one of the smartest solutions to traffic congestion and air quality problems yet to be introduced. The solution: zero-emissions personal transportation that is well integrated with traditional alternative transportation choices such as mass transit and carpooling. GEM vehicles are sophisticated yet simple. They represent a new kind of personal transportation that expands the capacity to have fun. They represent a versatile and efficient way to get the job done, as well as a clean way to do everyday work. GEM vehicles harness and put to work the power of silence. Today, GEM remains committed to maintaining its leadership position in the NEV market with product improvements, innovations, and offerings. Currently, GEM vehicles are available in six unique models and are seen in cities, master planned communities, universities and colleges, industrial complexes, security companies, airports, and resorts throughout the world. Looking to the future, GEM is strategically positioned within the DaimlerChrysler family to aid in the company's continuing efforts and commitment to developing, producing, and selling the world's most environmentally- friendly vehicles. Classic Golf Car Company, founded in 1990 by John Herou, strove to provide its customers with the very best product on the market. Our golf cars were completely hand built with the finest parts and care in mind. Our customers were from all walks of life and all around the world. Classic golf cars are still regarded as one of the finest golf cars ever produced. Through our experience in providing custom vehicles and listening to our wide array of customers, the vision for a-ride Industries' electric vehicles came to light when the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA),created a new class of motor vehicle called the Low Speed Vehicle (a.k.a. the Neighborhood Electric Vehicle) in 1998. John had learned through the years that most of his customers weren't using the Classics on the golf course, but around the neighborhood. With the new vehicle classification and feedback from his customers, John began designs for the first prototype. In the spring of 2003, after 4 years of research and development, the first prototype was built. e-ride Industries builds a neighborhood electric vehicle that is perfect for short commutes. The vehicles were designed to fit the residential home owner. Typical owners use the vehicle to go to the store, golf course, market or any other local community destination. This neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV) is virtually maintenance free and costs the consumer only one and a half cents per mile to operate, making our e-ride's much more efficient for residential use than, any full-size gas powered vehicle, not to mention helping the pollution problem. The typical commute for most Americans is less than 50 miles a day, making Neighborhood electric vehicles a viable solution for many people. Not to mention a fun way to get around! e-ride Industries' vehicles are built to be tough. The exv2 can be equipped with, a wide array of options to make the perfect utility vehicle. Some of the options include diamond plate tool boxes, aluminum stake sides, and a full length topper. The exv2 has a payload capacity of 10001b and can make tough projects easy to handle. The exv4 is also great for transporting individuals and materials from one local to another. Both the exv2 and exv4 can be equipped to the users needs to ensure the perfect on site vehicle. e-ride Industries prides itself on providing the best product and support for our customers so they spend more time getting the job done. It's the natural product of smart's unswerving commitment to the environment and innovation — not to mention fun. It isn't available to buy just yet, but it isn't a million miles off. Powered solely by electricity, and chargeable from any three-pin socket, the smart ev can achieve the equivalent of 300 mpg — that amounts to a saving of up to 80% in fuel costs over the already highly economical fortwo. The ev can travel up to 72 miles between charges, which typically take around 8 hours for a full charge --- ideal for charging at work between your morning and evening commutes. If your journey takes you into the capital, you will find free electricity provided,by some London boroughs, as well as free or discounted parking. With a top-up charge during the day, the smart ev's daily range weights in at 100 miles. We're running a market trial with selected blue chip companies who are happy to meet our requirements to power the cars using only renewable energy sources. Among the partners already enrolled in the trial are The Energy Saving Trust, Islington and Coventry Councils, Lloyds Pharmacy, the CarbonNeutral Company, EDF Energy & BT. Expect the full complement of Mercedes-Benz safety features and a top speed of 70 mph courtesy of a powerful Zytek electric motor. Once it's up to speed (0-30 mph in 6.5 seconds) the ev uses its tiny weight gain to deliver an exciting and stable drive. A zero emission vehicle that is 100% smart; a car that will save money and the environment. Although the smart ev won't be available to the public just yet, it's definitely something we're working on: • Smart GmbH (parent company in Germany is a 100% owned subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler AG • Established April 1994 • 1140 employees • Administrative HQ: Btiblingen, Germany • Production Facility: Hambach, France • Represented in 35 countries • Management: Ulrich Walker (CEO), Anders Sundt Jensen & Rudolf Borgenheimer 16 l Provided Vehicle Specifications Smart EV Currently an RHD as it is a UK Market Trial. Not a gradual series of tweaking and fine-tuning, but blank-sheet-of-paper, toss-out-all-the assumptions bold-faced innovation. We set out to build an alternative vehicle that was practical yet stylish, efficient yet fun. So, unlike other companies who turned to the golf cart for inspiration, we turned to the European micro car. The first incarnation of the Kurrent appeared at the Torino Auto Show in 2002. It was a concept car back then, developed by Maurizio Tomaselli, a mechanical engineer who spent more than 30 years designing an array of vehicles. It wasn't until two years later that the second generation of Kurrent appeared. It was an open air model, developed from motorcycle design, intended to be powered by a combustion engine. This type of vehicle -- a micro car — adhered to the specs of a quadra cycle — a popular form of transportation in Europe. Tomaselli saw a need for an electric vehicle, however, one that was street legal on the congested downtown streets in major European cities. Thus, the third generation Kurrent was developed. It's this incarnation of the vehicle that inspired the creation of AEVCO. By combining Italian design with American engineering, we are creating the first neighborhood electric vehicle that not only turns corners, but also turns heads. The first Kurrent was assembled on January 2, 2007, at a factory in Ferndale, Michigan. From a concept at Torino to a reality in the US, Kurrent is poised to take a leadership position in the NV market. About ZAP ZAP stands for Zero Air Pollution'. With its new product offerings, the Company is positioned to become a leading brand and distribution portal of advanced technology vehicles. ZAP is committed to running its business based on a strong philosophical foundation that supports the environment, social responsibility and profitability. ZAP's strategy is to serve the growing and underrepresented consumer that seeks fuel efficient vehicles. With the recent increases in the cost of oil and increasing concern about the environment and the effects of global warming, we believe there is a large and untapped demand in the areas of transportation and consumer products. !During the energy crisis of the 1970s, Japanese automobile manufacturers penetrated the United States market when domestic automobile manufacturers failed to anticipate changes. ZAP believes a similar opportunity is present today, enhanced by heightened environmental awareness, climate changes and economic pressures. ZAP has assembled a complete line of products to meet the growing demands of the environmentally conscious consumer focused on two primary businesses: ZAP Automotive and ZAP Power Systems, ZAP is positioned to become a leading distributor of fuel efficient alternative energy vehicles in the United States. ZAP has already established more than 20 licensed automotive dealers as customers and intends to grow its distribution base significantly over the next several years. Simultaneously, ZAP intends to secure distribution agreements with two to four other vehicle manufacturers whose products fit ZAP's mission, and distribute those vehicles through its dealer network. ZAP entered the automotive business in 2006 by selling a modified version of the European micro-car, the "Smart Car," in the United States and has sold over 300 through the first nine months of 2006. ZAP Automotive is currently launching the XEBRAT"", what we believe is the first 100% production electric vehicle (".EV) not designated as a "low speed vehicle" ("LSV"). In fact, we believe the XEBRA is the only production EV available in the United States with a top speed of up to 40 mph. http://www.zapworid.com/ZAPWorld.aspx?id=188ZAP has recently begun its first marketing campaign for the XEBRA vehicles. The XEBRA comes in a four-passenger sedan version and a two-passenger utility pickup version. According to the Electric Auto Association, there are over 56,000 EVs on the road today. It is estimated that almost all EVs sold to date are LSVs. The Company believes the EV market niche will continue to grow rapidly, especially with the introduction of affordable vehicles such as the XEBRA that will retail for less than $10,000 and deliver features, such as speeds in excess of 40 mph, not currently available among existing EVs. ZAP's Chinese manufacturing partner currently has the manufacturing capacity to produce approximately 1,000 vehicles per 19 month and is working with ZAP to obtain the required federal and state regulatory approvals in the United States. f In line with ZAP's goal of growing its automotive offerings, in 2008 ZAP intends to launch an advanced alternative energy vehicle called the OBVIOL ZAP entered into a license and distribution agreement with Brazilian manufacturer OBVIO! inhttp://www.zapworld.com/ZAPWorld.aspx?id=308 September of 2005 that granted us the exclusive North American distribution rights for the line of OBVIO! micro-cars. These cars will be designed to run on ethanol, gasoline, or any combination of the two energy sources and will come in two models, an economy 828 model and a high performance 012 model. OBVIO! anticipates deliveries to ZAP to begin in 2008. According to an article published by the Washington Post, there are approximately five million flex-fuel vehicles currently on the road in the U.S., with sales expected to increase substantially over the next few years. ZAP believes it will capture market share by offering a vehicle that is stylish, sporty and fun, yet more fuel-efficient and 'able to run on 100%n ethanol. In the personal transportation market, the ZAP brand is well-known given the over 90,000 ZAP vehicles sold since the Company's founding in 1994. With a recently renewed focus on leveraging this brand identity, the Company has been upgrading its range of vehicles and products that produce zero air pollution and inject new energy and style into transportation, recreation and industrial applications. ZAP's new vehicle lineup features high quality 100% electric scooters, off-road dirt bikes and all terrain vehicles. The ZAPPY® 3, a three-wheel personal transporter, competes in the light electric vehicles segment, a category that includes light scooters, bicycles, motor scooters, and motorcycles. Data provided by Cycle Electric, an international consulting group, estimates that over 13 million light electric vehicles were sold in 2005. However, the ZAPPY 3 is one of the only products in this segment which spans recreation, commercial and industrial applications. Its main competitor, the Segway, does not, in the Company's opinion, have the functionality of the ZAPPY 3, yet retails for approximately eight times the price. In the off-road segment, the Auto Channel estimates that there were over 800,000 all-terrain vehicles sold globally in 2005, none of which are electric. ZAP intends to capture a portion of the off-road market share by addressing the unmet demand for quiet, zero emission electric vehicles. among consumers who previously could only purchase gasoline-powered versions of such vehicles. 20 Provided Vehicle Specifications Xebra Sedan f The fun, compact, and affordable electric vehicle with up to 4 seating. Right now 58% of our oil comes from other countries, so it's practically inevitable our foreign policy principles will be held ransom by our need to maintain domestic economic stability. When you consider that 68% of our oil is used for transportation, we believe gasoline-free cars are an ideal solution to these issues. Even a hybrid car, which still burns gasoline and emits carbon dioxide, doesn't solve our oil-related problems, it just postpones them. If you look hard at the numbers, it's clear that an electric car is the cleanest and most efficient kind of car in existence. We have done exhaustive "well to wheel" energy and emissions analyses, and the numbers are undeniable. Historically, it seemed to us that electric cars had been designed by people who thought we really shouldn't be driving at all - but if we must, we should suffer every minute of it. Electric cars have had terrible range and embarrassing styling. To those who say electric cars have been tried and failed we say, of course electric cars won't catch on if no one actually wants to drive them. We needed to change perceptions of electric vehicles in a big way. To make electric cars a viable alternative, we set out to build one that was gorgeous and thrilling to drive. Our first car, the Tesla Roadster, isn't a plan, pipedream or prototype; this car exists and is for sale now. It's a no-compromise driver's car that can accelerate faster than a Porsche 911 and hit a top speed of nearly twice what the law permits. With a range of more than 200 miles on a single charge, you can use it all day long and not worry you'll 26 run out of juice. Just plug it in at night the same way you drop your cell phone into its charger, and sleep well, without guilt. While the Tesla Roadster's sticker price is in a league with other high-performance sports cars with similar specs, we recognize it's out of reach for a lot of people. We consciously chose to develop a high-end sports car as our first car in order to develop the "performance DNA" from which we could create other electric vehicles. Our next model will leverage the Tesla Roadster`s technology, resulting in a less expensive sports sedan that we can sell at higher volume. Tesla Motors designs and sells high-performance, highly efficient electric sports cars — with no compromises. Tessa Motors cars combine style, acceleration, and handling with advanced technologies that make them among the quickest and the most energy- efficient cars on the road. Provided Vehicle Specifications Testa Roadster 2-seat, open-top, rear-drive roadster. The Tesla Roadster's specs illustrate what it does (0 to 60 in about 4 seconds) -- as well as what it doesn't (zero emissions, zero motor oil). There is no motor oil to change; no filters, belts, or spark plugs to replace; no oxygen sensors to mistrust before an emissions test — in fact, no emissions test required ever. Other than inspection, the only service we recommend for the first 100,000 miles is brake and tire service. Curb Weight: 2690 lbs r _° Length: 155.4" .. The vehicles will cost $50,000 for the standard model or $65,000 for a premium model with greater performance and range. Phoenix Motorcars was born in July of 2001 when Riegert and Muscato established proof-of-concept for their original design. "Our vision has always been to build a virtual car company," said Dan. "We have brought together a fusion of the best available technology and created a truly modular car concept. It's been an evolution that's resulted in a revolution." Phoenix Motorcars capitalizes on technology breakthroughs which eliminate previous deficiencies in battery and drive-train performance. The result: all-electric vehicles with performance similar to gas- or diesel-powered vehicles without the polluting by- products. Phoenix Motorcars uses the UQM® PowerPhase 100 propulsion system, which delivers 550 Newton meters of torque and 100 Kilowatts of peak power in a lightweight, compact and energy-efficient package that is ideally suited for battery electric vehicles where the system's high energy efficiency can improve vehicle range. Our earth-friendly vehicles also use the NanoSafeTm battery, a Lithium Titanate battery technology developed by Altairnano, a leading innovative battery developer. Similar to lithium-ion chemistry, it implements a compound containing titanium that prevents the fundamental cause of uncontrolled thermal runaway. 28 The NanoSafeTm battery delivers safety, long life and high performance, hurdles that have prevented the electric vehicle from being commercially successful in the past. It can be recharged in less than 10 minutes, operates in cold and hot weather and is expected to last more than 12 years. Battery Performance: • Lead-Acid: This technology is over 100 years old. Lead acid batteries were the power source of General Motors' EV1. These batteries have poor lifetime characteristics, which lead to an economically unfeasible total cost of ownership when periodic battery replacements are considered. Lead-acid batteries are available from numerous manufacturers located in almost every industrialized nation. • Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH): The predominant NiMH manufacturers are (in order) Panasonic, Sanyo and Cobasys. NiMH batteries are the foundation of the Toyota Prius and Honda Insight hybrid electric vehicles. These batteries are intolerant of full-charge and discharge cycles, which make electric vehicle usage inappropriate. Toyota demonstrated this with the RAV4-EV, their NiMH-powered production electric vehicle. Toyota manufactured approximately 800 RAV4 EVs through 2002 and could not demonstrate the NiMH battery was suitable for electric vehicle purposes. • Lithium-Ion: This battery is ubiquitous in consumer electronics (cell phones, laptop computers, iPods). The International Electrotechnique Commission (Geneva) and the United Nations (Brussels) have passed international regulatory standards about the safety of lithium-ion batteries, Battery pack systems larger than the average consumer electronics device have been ruled as a fire and safety hazard. This is because the fundamental chemistry of the lithium-ion battery allows for an uncontrolled thermal runaway, which can result in a fire or explosion; this was recently demonstrated by lithium-ion batteries in Dell and Apple Macintosh laptop computers. It might be possible with a vehicle capable of running on electricity, E85, biodiesel and gasoline fuels. Introducing a new kind of electric vehicle — Concept Chevy Volt. It's unlike any previous EV (electric vehicle), thanks to its innovative rechargeable electric drive system and range-extending power source. It can be configured to run on electricity, gasoline, E85 or biodiesel. So you have at least a couple of options for the most efficient drive — all made possible by GM's innovative E-Flex Propulsion System. Off-the-line torque is instantaneous, giving you responsive acceleration. Plus, this four- to five-passenger sport sedan still maintains the passenger and cargo capacities,of a production car.(2) You'll also enjoy the benefits of features you've grown to expect — driver and front passenger air bags(3) and the StabiliTrak Stability Control System, for instance — as well as new convenience features allowing you to charge certain small electronic devices without plugging them in, Concept Chevy Volt is just another way Chevy is working to bring you drivable and practical vehicles that help decrease our dependence on petroleum and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
