ORDINANCE NO. 1348
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN, MONTANA, PROVIDING THAT THE BOZEMAN MUNICIPAL
CODE, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1285 AND NOT CURRENTLY
CODIFIED IN THE BOZEMAN MUNICIPAL CODE, BE AMENDED BY
REVISING
SECTION 15.04.010 OF SAID
CODE; ADOPTING BY
REFERENCE THE 1991 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE
WITH
APPENDIXES CHAPTERS 7, 10, 12, 23, 32, 49, 53, 55 AND
57, AND
THE 1991 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE STANDARDS.
Preamble
The purpose of this Code is to provide minimum standards
to safeguard
life or limb, health, property and public welfare by
regulating and
controlling the design, construction, quality of materials,
use and
occupancy, location and maintenance of all buildings
and structures within
this jurisdiction and certain equipment specifically
regulated herein.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN, MONT ANA:
Section 1
That Section 15.04.010 of the Bozeman Municipal Code
be amended so that such
section shall read as follows:
"15.04.010 Adoption by reference of the +983 ~ Edition of the Uniform Building Code
and the 4988 1991 Edition of the Uniform Building Code Standards.

open for inspection by public in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bozeman, 411 East
Main, Bozeman, Montana, being marked and designated as: Uniform Building Code, 4-988-
~ Edition, published by the International Conference of Building Officials, including
Appendix Chapters 7, 10. 12,23,32,49, 53,.52 and e.& 57, and the Uniform Building Code
Standards, 4-988- ~ Edition, published by the International
Conference of Building
Officials, be and the same are hereby adopted as the code of the jurisdiction of the City of
Bozeman for regulating the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving,
removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area, and maintenance
of all buildings 6f and structures in the jurisdiction of the City of Bozeman~ providing for the
issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations,
provisions, conditions and terms of such Uniform Building Code, 4-988- ~ Edition, and the
Uniform Building Code Standards, 4-988- 1991 Edition, published by the International
Conference of Building Officials, all of which are on file in the office of the Clerk of the City
Commission are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this
ordinance. "

Section 2
ReDealer.
All resolutions, ordinances, and sections of the Bozeman
Municipal Code, or parts
thereof, in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3
Savings Provision.
This ordinance does not affect the rights and duties that matured, penalties that were
incurred or proceedings that were begun before the effective date of this ordinance.
Section 4
Severability .
If any portion of this ordinance is declared unconstitutional or the applicability thereof
to any person or circumstances is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other
provisions or applications of this ordinance which may be given effect without the invalid
provision or application and, to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.

Section 5
Effective Date.
This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after
second reading and final
adoption as provided by law.
