Aquatic Center Concerns: Dan McCarthy:Dan reported that throughout the summer the pool closed a total of three times due to weather conditions. The closures follow a straight forward procedure that outlines the conditions which qualify a closure. Dan further explained that the pool is unable to be open through Labor Day strictly due to the fact that he runs out of funding for employees. Goldfish Day was in violation of numerous health codes and therefore was not offered this year. Additionally, Dan discussed the high costs of heating the pool. Betty Stroock reported receiving numerous questions/complaints from families of younger children in regard to Bogert Pool being closed prior to the end of the Labor Day weekend. It was recommended that a way be found to keep Bogert Pool open through the Labor Day weekend, and on warm weekend days through mid-September, if at all possible.
