MEETING DATE: September 21, 2009 AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Action RECOMMENDATION: Request to Open and Continue Public Hearing on Resolution No. 4187, Special Assessment for Fiscal Year 2010 Downtown Business Improvement District to October 5, 2009. BACKGROUND: The Downtown Business Improvement District annual assessments are based on the Taxable Value of each parcel in the district. Due to reappraisal, there have been delays in the state making this information available. As of the 5:00pm Wednesday, September 16, 2009, we could not obtain the information. Until the information is available, we cannot establish assessment amounts. We recommend opening and continuing this hearing until October 5, 2009. FISCAL EFFECTS: There are no direct fiscal effects for delaying this resolution by two weeks. Ultimately adopting the resolution will assess property owners in the district $114,000 in total for the fiscal year. This is the same total assessment raised as last year.
