Kukulski, City Manager SUBJECT: Appointment to the Tree Advisory Board MEETING DATE: September 14, 2009 AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Action RECOMMENDATION: Appoint one new member to the Tree Advisory Board. BACKGROUND: The Tree Advisory Board has one vacancy and two applicants. The Tree Advisory Board is created under Ordinance No. 1364, adopted by the City Commission on April 26, 1993, as codified in Chapter 2.92 of the Bozeman Municipal Code. The Board is comprised of five members appointed by the City Commission, serving staggered two-year terms. The Board is advisory to the Commission, providing guidance and advice regarding the City's tree program and developing a proposed arboricultural specification manual and any needed revisions. Whenever possible, two of the members shall be from the following disciplines: real estate, commercial lending, civil or environmental engineering, or landscape architecture or construction. Members shall be residents of the City, own property within the City, or be gainfully employed within the City. Current board members include a landscape designer, arborist, County planner and landscape architect. The Tree Advisory Board currently has one vacancy and two applicants.
