This Letter of Understanding and Agreement is made and entered into this 21st day of
July 2009, by and between the Bozeman Fire Department, hereinafter referred to as the "BFD",
and the Bozeman Firefighters Union, Local 613, hereinafter referred to as the "Union".
WHEREAS, the Bozeman Firefighters collective bargaining agreement specifically
identifies Uniform Day Personnel (UDP) positions;
WHEREAS, both parties recognize the importance of these positions in the day-to-day
operations of the Department;
WHEREAS the Union has filed four grievances related to the FLSA status and wages of
the Training Officer position;
WHEREAS both parties have agreed that repetitive grievances on the same items is not
an effective use of the public's time or resources;
THEREFORE, for these and other reasons, the parties mutually agree to suspend and
cease filing all future grievances related to these same issues until such time as the original four
grievances are resolved.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties to this Agreement have set their hands the day and year
first about written.
