SUBJECT: Re-Appointment to the Northeast Urban Renewal Board
MEETING DATE: July 13, 2009
RECOMMENDATION: Re-appoint one member to the Northeast Urban Renewal Board.
BACKGROUND: There are two members on the Northeast Urban Renewal Board with a term
that expires on July 31, 2009 and one ongoing vacancy. The voting expiring member has re-
applied to the board.
This board is established under Section 7-15-4232 of the Montana Code Annotated. It consists
of five members who serve staggered four-year terms after the initial appointment. The board
shall consist of 5 voting members and not more than 4 non-voting members. The preferred
composition of the voting members shall be
2 business owners of businesses within the district;
2 residents from within the district;
1 member at-large.
Voting members must reside within city-limits or own property within the district.
The board shall be responsible to:
(1) develop plans which implement the vision of the district;
(2) review on an ongoing basis the operation and processes of all public agencies to
assure that such activities are supportive of the plan;
(3) advocate and coordinate the complete and full implementation of the plan.
The NURB currently has one vacancy, two expiring terms and one re-applying member.
