Kukulski, City Manager SUBJECT: Re-appointment to the Beautification Advisory Board MEETING DATE: July 6, 2009 RECOMMENDATION: Re-appoint one member to the Beautification Advisory Board. BACKGROUND: The Beautification Advisory Board currently has one vacancy and one expiring board member who has re-applied. The new expiration date for the re-applying board member would be June 30, 2012. The Beautification Advisory Board is created under Ordinance No. 1360, Chapter 2.84, Bozeman Municipal Code. The board is to consist of up to nine members, to be appointed to staggered three-year terms. Persons must be of legal age. A majority of the members must be residents of the city; and non-resident members shall “have some interest in the city by virtue of working in the city, owning property in the city, or entering the city frequently for any lawful purpose.” The board is to identify, investigate, and recommend community beautification projects and programs; investigate and pursue possible funding sources for beautification projects, in coordination with City staff; and advise the Commission concerning beautification of City- owned properties and facilities. The Beautification Advisory Board currently has one vacancy and one expiring term with one applicant re-applying. Re-applicant: Charlotte Knighton ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
