SUBJECT: Appointment to the Community Alcohol Coalition
MEETING DATE: April 20, 2009 RECOMMENDATION: Appoint one member to the Community Alcohol Coalition.
BACKGROUND: There are currently six vacancies on the Community Alcohol Coalition. These include one position for a Bozeman School District representative, a High School Student, three positions for someone within the hospitality industry, and one position for someone in the
medical field.
There is one new applicant that qualifies as a person within the hospitality industry. This position expiration is June 30, 2011.
The Community Alcohol Coalition was created under Commission Resolution No. 3611, based
on a recommendation from the Bozeman Alcohol Policy Advisory Council. The Coalition shall
consist of 15 members to be appointed by the City Commission. A majority of the members shall be residents of the city and fit into specific representative criteria.
The Community Alcohol Coalition currently has six vacancies with one applicant
qualifying as a representative of the hospitality industry.

I have worked in the hospitality industry for the past four years, mainly as a bartender and have
attended and graduated from law school. I am very familiar with liquor laws and procedures
both in Colorado and Montana and would love to get involved in the Bozeman community. I
have a profound interest in bettering the community and working with involved individuals to
reduce alcohol related offenses and accidents, as well as working with the city to continue
Bozeman’s reputation as a great place to live.
