HomeMy WebLinkAbout02 07 09 Northeast Urban Renewal Board Minutes, special meeting NURB Minutes for special meeting called February 7, 2009 (DRAFT) Meeting was called for by Eric Nelson, President Northeast Urban Renewal Board. In attendance were Jeanne Wesley-Wiese, Bob Pavlik, Terry Giovanni, Tom Noble, Eric Nelson, Dan Dohring and Keri Thorpe (City liason). The meeting was called by Eric Nelson purely to discuss applying for funds through the Park Grant Program. There was discussion regarding the cash-in-lieu money taken from the area and the northeast urban district. The question was should the NURB apply for a matching grant to start the park called the “Triangle Park” but renamed “Depot Park” at this meeting. Eric also presented the NURB with a list of projected costs for Phase I which include top soil, well, fines and landscaping. The projected costs were ($) (?) A vote to seek grant in the amount of $20,000 with matching $20,000 from TIF funds was proposed. A motion was made that the NURB request to allow allocating $25,000 from the TIF towards parks for 2009. A second motion was made to proceed with grant application request from the Park Improvement Program in the amount of $20,000. However, if bids come back at $50,000 NURB will ask for $25,000 from Park Improvement Program. The second motion was voted for unanimously. Respectfully submitted, Jeanne Wesley-Wiese Recorder
