Have you ever served on a City or County board? (Yes/No) No
(If so, where, what board, and how long?)
Please explain your relevant qualifications, interests, and experiences.
For the past two years, my work at WTI has focused on promoting alternative transportation (bicycling, walking and transit) primarily on Federal lands. I would like to apply this knowledge locally to help create viable alternatives to the private automobile. I think this is possible with an integrated
bicycle/pedestrian/transit network and promotion of these options. I’ve been an avid mountain biker in the Gallatin Valley for many years and am learning how to become a more avid bike commuter. I am interested in promoting bicycle safety education programs and initiating a local bike share program. I
recently completed the "Guide to Promoting Bicycling on Federal Lands" which was prepared for the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Central Federal Lands. The Guide is available at http://www.cflhd.gov/techDevelopment/completed_projects/bikes/index.cfm and at the Pedestrian and
Bicycle Information Center at www.pedbikeinfo.org. Please see the attached a one-page description of this effort.
