SUBJECT: Award Bid in the amount of $104,640.00 for One New 2008 Automatic
4 Wheel Drive, Diesel Cab and Chassis Truck with Aerial Platform
and Boom mounted on the Truck to Stamm Manufacturing
MEETING DATE: February 11, 2008 Consent Agenda
RECOMMENDATION: That the Commission award the bid for one new 2008
Automatic 4 Wheel Drive, Diesel Cab and Chassis Truck with Aerial Platform and Boom
mounted on the Truck to Stamm Manufacturing .
BACKGROUND: Per the Fiscal Year 2008-2012 Capital Improvement Program, the FY08
budget provides $110,000 for the purchase of a new lift truck for the Sign and Signal Division.
This will replace a 1992 lift truck with over 8200 hours on it. The aerial bucket unit will be sold.
The cab and chassis will be kept by the Street Department and converted into a one ton truck to
be used as a barricade truck for street closures.
Bids were requested with only one received and opened on January 30, 2008.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The purchase total of $104,640.00 is $5,360.00 less than what was
budgeted. This truck will have increased fuel mileage and operate on biodiesel resulting in fewer
emissions.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
Respectfully submitted,
