HomeMy WebLinkAboutApprove Resolution No. 4096, setting the City’s Priority list for Federal Funding Assistance Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Chris Kukulski, City Manager SUBJECT: Resolution 4096 Request for Federal Funding Assistance MEETING DATE: February 25, 2008 RECOMMENDATION: The City Commission unanimously approves Resolution 4096 setting the City’s priority list for Federal Funding Assistance. BACKGROUND: During last evening’s 2008 - 2009 Work Plan Priority session, the Commission agreed on four projects to seek Federal Funding Assistance. 1) Reconstruction of the Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant 2) College Street upgrades from 11th Avenue west to Main Street 3) Kagy Boulevard upgrades from South Willson Avenue west to South Nineteenth Avenue 4) Watershed protection to safely open winter access to Hyalite Canyon to include guard rails and public bathrooms. Next Wednesday, Mayor Jacobson and I will be meeting with Senator Max Baucus, Senator Jon Tester and Congressman Denny Rehberg in Washington DC to discuss the importance of these projects. FISCAL EFFECTS: Unknown – in and of itself, the Resolution has no funding implications, however if federal funds are secured to assist in any one of these projects, it could save local tax payers millions of dollars. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission. Respectfully submitted, ____________________________ Chris A.
