SUBJECT: Appointment to the Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board
MEETING DATE: February 25, 2008
RECOMMENDATION: Appoint one member to the Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board.
BACKGROUND: The Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board is created under Commission
Resolution 2782 (adopted by the City Commission on August 20, 1990), and revised by
Ordinance 1521 (adopted by the City Commission on August 7, 2000).
This board is comprised of five members, appointed to staggered two-year terms. A minimum of
four of the members must reside within City limits. No board member may concurrently hold a
voting position on the Senior Citizens Advisory Board and on the Bozeman Senior Center Board
of Directors or the board of any other agency housed within the Bozeman Senior Citizen Center.
The board is advisory to the Commission, making recommendations on matters regarding senior
citizen issues and on matters relating to the operation and management of the Bozeman Senior
Citizen Center building and grounds.
The Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board currently has one vacancy and one applicant.

Attached is my application to serve on the Senior Citizens Advisory Board together with
my resume
I am primarily interested in serving on the Board so as to assist the Bozeman Senior
Center and the City in serving the many working but still nearly poor senior citizens
residing in the area particularly with respect to eye and dental care I would also like to
explore the possibility of reduced cost cable TV services for poor and nearly poor senior
shut ins
