HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008 Sewer Rehabilitation Project                          Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Bob Murray, Project Engineer Chris Kukulski, City Manager SUBJECT: 2008 Sewer Rehab Project MEETING DATE: 4/21/08 RECOMMENDATION: Authorize City Manager to sign. BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of the partially executed Agreement with Great West Engineering, Inc. for Professional Engineering Services for above referenced project. This project is for the replacement of approximately 1400 lineal feet of main on Lincoln utilizing pipe bursting. The size of the existing main will be increased from 8” to 15” in accordance with the Wastewater facility plan. Additionally, approximately 16,000 lineal feet of main of various sizes on the east side of town will be rehabilitated using the Cured In Place Pipe (CIPP) method. The improvements will serve to both increase the capacity of the system in places and address rehabilitate old infrastructure. Attached to the contract is a detailed scope and budget which provides an itemized breakdown of the tasks to be completed with the project. The document is in the City’s standard format. The proposed fee of $93,480 for design and bidding services appears to be commensurate with the project complexity. An amendment will be processed for construction services after the design phase is complete. FISCAL EFFECTS: Currently budgeted in the wastewater fund.
