SUBJECT: Capital Improvements Criteria for General Fund Items
MEETING DATE: September 15, 2008
RECOMMENDATION: Approve attached General Fund Capital Improvements Plan
Critiera, with any modifications.
BACKGROUND: We are beginning our update of the City’s Capital Improvements Plan
(CIP) for FY2010-2014. According to the Charter, this plan must be presented to the
Commission by the City Manager no later than December 15, 2008.
We have prepared a proposed list of criteria and scoring system for all General Fund Items. The
City Manager will have ultimate responsibility for scoring CIP items, and the scoring sheets will
be included in the CIP document. These scores will be considered when scheduling purchases
and projects in the recommended CIP.
FISCAL EFFECTS: None.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
