Have you ever served on a City or County board?
Yes, I have been serving on the Recreation and Parks Advisory board for the past two years. I also
serve on the sub-division review committee.
Please explain your relevant qualifications, interests, and experiences.
As mentioned I have been active in the community on the city level for the past two years and have
come a long way in terms of being familiar with the processes and the importance of making
informed decisions. Many of these opinions have been forged through experience and I enjoy
immensely having some premise to work with when reviewing new sub-divisions and being active in
the discussions. However I’m usually the one to ask the naïve questions and go out on a limb to be
sure that I understand the weight of things. I believe in this way of having an un-encumbered
approach to public discussion ultimately leads to deeper understandings and better decision making. I
really enjoy having a sense of involvement in Bozeman’s future and want badly to continue to serve.

Have you ever served on a City or County board? (Yes/No) No, but I was an administrative
assistant for the Gallatin Local Water Quality District for 2 years, so I kind of know how the
Boards work.
(If so, where, what board, and how long?)
Please explain your relevant qualifications, interests, and experiences. I am married and have
two young children ages 5 and 2. We enjoy living in Bozeman because of all the fun, outdoor
activities it offers. We love to hike, ride our bikes on the trails, go to the city parks, ski, camp,
and listen to live music together. It would be great to see some of Bozeman's parks get a
"facelift", so to speak. My family is very excited about the dinosaur park going in at the 100 acre
park. It sounds like that will someday be a real treat for all the families in Bozeman. I would
love to get the chance to serve on the Recreation and Parks Advisory Board so I can share my
ideas and help make Bozeman an even better place to recreate and have fun.

Although I have no experience on city boards or local government, I have lived in Bozeman for
over seven years and love my home. I moved to Bozeman for school in 2001 and never left. I'm
just over half way through a masters program in Public Administration which has sparked my
interest in local government and the value of community. I am very passionate about Bozeman
and genuinely think it is the best place to live. There are many factors that go into making
Bozeman such a special place, but I certainly think part of that is the quality and number of parks
available in the city. I spend plenty of my time walking my chocolate lab, Meka through parks of
Bozeman. I think those shared spaces are so critical to developing a sense of community. I'm very
interested in sharing my time, energy and passion to help improve my community and I think
serving on this board is a great way to do just that.

I am a Bozeman native who loves this valley, especially for all the activities it has to
offer. I left for a short time for graduate school where I realized how important it is to maintain
the integrity of this wonderful place.
I have a Master’s in biology where my research focused on freshwater ecology and
conservation. During my research I worked with various agencies and citizens groups.
Additionally, I took numerous hours of coursework focusing on conservation. After graduation I
returned to Bozeman with a passion to promote conservation in Montana.
I am also a triathlete and cyclist and an active member of a new multisport team, Team
Muleterro, and the Gallatin Valley Bicycle Club. As part of training I and fellow athletes
routinely use Bozeman’s resources (i.e. trails, ponds, pools). We see the potential use of these
venues for athletic events that could ultimately be an attraction for athletes across the Northwest.
I grew up playing in the creek behind my house and exploring the Galligator and
Sourdough trails. I value that so many of those resources still exist, plus many more, and I
appreciate the chance to have an opportunity to be part of their future.
