HomeMy WebLinkAbout(Re)Appointments to the Senior Citizen's Advisory BoardCommission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Aimee Kissel, Deputy City Clerk Chris Kukulski, City Manager SUBJECT: (Re)Appointments to the Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board MEETING DATE: January 12, 2009 RECOMMENDATION: (Re)appoint up to four members to the Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board. BACKGROUND: Three terms on the Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board expired on December 31, 2008. Two new positions were created on October 6, 2008 per Ordinance No. 1748. Two expiring members have re-applied for another term and two new applicants have applied. The Senior Citizens’ Advisory Board is created under Commission Resolution No. 2782 (adopted by the City Commission on August 20, 1990), revised by Ordinance 1521 (adopted by the City Commission on August 7, 2000) and Ordinance No. 1748 (adopted by the City Commission on October 6, 2008). This board is comprised of seven members, appointed to staggered two-year terms. A minimum of five of the members must reside within city limits. No board member may concurrently hold a voting position on the Senior Citizens Advisory Board and on the Bozeman Senior Center Board of Directors or the board of any other agency housed within the Bozeman Senior Citizen Center. The board is advisory to the Commission, making recommendations on matters regarding senior citizen issues and on matters relating to the operation and management of the Bozeman Senior Citizen Center building and grounds.
