BACKGROUND: One voting City appointee term on the Pedestrian and Traffic Safety Committee expired on December 31, 2008. Under an Interlocal Agreement dated February 6, 1990 and signed by the State of Montana Department of Transportation, the Bozeman City-County Planning Board, the City of Bozeman, and Gallatin County, the Pedestrian and Traffic Safety Committee is identified “as a sounding board for proposals advanced to the Transportation Coordinating Committee.” The structure of the Committee is somewhat revised under this Interlocal Agreement, with its members being appointed by the City Commission and the County Commission, “from a cross section of the study area's economic and social classes in accordance with the appropriate section of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.” The Committee is advisory, and members are appointed to staggered two-year terms. Currently there is one expiring term and one re-applicant. Gary Vodehnal Applicant seeking Re-appointment: ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
