HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdopt Resolution No. 4148, Requesting Federal Funding Assistance Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and Commission Members FROM: Chris Kukulski, City Manager SUBJECT: Commission Resolution No. 4148 – Federal Funding Assistance MEETING DATE: February 23, 2009 RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Resolution No. 4148. BACKGROUND: The attached Federal Funding Assistance resolution will be utilized in the application process with Senator’s Baucus and Tester, and Representative Rehberg. FISCAL EFFECTS: There are no immediate fiscal effects. Federal funding received usually reduces the amount of money the City must dedicate to important projects. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission. Respectfully submitted, Chris Kukulski, City Manager 34 - 1 - COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 4148 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, REQUESTING FEDERAL FUNDING. WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman has prioritized its critical projects for the upcoming year; and WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman has set aside millions of dollars in Development Impact Fees and rate-payer funds for upgrades to our Water Reclamation Facility (Wastewater Treatment Plant), Water Treatment Plant, and road networks; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, that the City of Bozeman is requesting Federal Funding Assistance for: 1. Reconstruction of the Municipal Water Reclamation Facility for the treatment of wastewater 2. Reconstruction of the Municipal Water Treatment Facility 3. College Street Upgrades from South 11th 4. Kagy Boulevard Upgrades from South Willson Avenue west to South 19 Avenue west to Main Street th 5. Watershed Protection to safely open winter access to Hyalite Canyon to include guard rails and public restrooms.
