Please explain your relevant qualifications, interests, and experiences. It would be my great pleasure to serve to the Bozeman community on the Bicycle Board. As a regular bicycle commuter, recreational cyclist, pedestrian and occasional motorist, I have a strong interest in safe and respectful cohabitation of the roadways. I would hope to encourage courteous use of streets by bikers, efforts to increase safety, promote education of young and old cyclists alike, and maintain motorist’s awareness of other users on the road. Many factors contribute to Bozeman’s status as the ‘last best place’. Bicycling is an effective method by which to maintain the existing character of Bozeman and to encourage the economic, environmental and public health of its citizens. Dedication to improvement of Bozeman’s bicycling infrastructure can assist in that goal. I have an educational background in geographical planning and have more recently been involved in Complete Streets and transportation planning issues in Gallatin County and would very much enjoy the opportunity to apply this dedication to a position on BABAB.
