DRAFT MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday, November 12, 2008
Attending: Dana Huschle (NHVN) facilitator, Rob Funderburk (SCAN), Bob Wall (SENA)

7:10 Dana called the meeting to order
No quorum to vote on approval of minutes
Public comment was requested.
Rob -Jody Delay at the University is studying university-community relations -she will do a
survey in the SCAN area.
7:15 Jeff Key presented information on the Bozeman Transportation Plan Update
This is a 5-year update started in 2007. It includes involvement by Gallatin County, the City of
Bozeman, MDT, and the Federal Highway Assoc.
The Transportation Coordinating Committee (TCC) oversees the plan
The public draft has been available for review for 3-4 days. Comment must be written. The
comment period ends Dec. 5, 2008.
Written comments will be reviewed at the Dec. 17 TCC meeting. Send to

Plan balances vehicular and non-motorized plans. Alta Planning and Design did the non-
vehicular plans.
Public meetings have been well-attended -there has been good outreach.
We reviewed the outline of the plan
Recommendations:
Facilities (Infrastructure)
30 major street network projects, 16 committed
36 transportation system management (TSM) projects, 7 committed
Pedestrian and bicycle improvement projects
Equestrian routes were requested
Projects include description and cost estimates
Programs, Policy, Procedures
Complete Streets Guidelines -funding and right-of--way issues
Level of Service Guidelines
Pedestrian and Bicycle Guidelines - a bike/ped coordinator maybe recommended
Engineering, Education, Enforcement, Encouragement policy recommendation
Public Transport
Relied on Streamline's input and plans
Plan proposes evaluation criteria for the public transport system
Traffic Calming
Recommended MSN and Roadway Corridors
Roundabout evolution
Roadway typical section standards -MDT and federal standards must be accommodated, try to
mix with local preferences
The plan is available for download or on CD. A newsletter is also available on the Web site, and
copies were available at the meeting.
TCC and planning boards are reviewing the draft.
Updated plans will go to committees for adoption
