This note conveys the minutes of this Board's meeting on December 3, 2008
Minutes of meeting held December 3, 2008 of Bozeman Senior Citizens' Advisory Board;
members present: Ken Tiahrt, Charlotte Kress, Patty Phillips, excused: Milly Gutkowski.
Meeting convened at 1400hrs.
Agenda items.
I. Public Comment -None
2. Filling Vacant Board Positions -Applications are being submitted.
3. Various aspects of holding an Older Americans' Week in Bozeman (as part of the
National Older Americans' Month) were discussed.
Proposed for week of May 17-23, 2008. As much as possible similar events
would be held in each community in the Gallatin Valley.
The week should have a special mayoral proclamations.
Tentative one-day events were addressed, including: "Older American Luncheon's,
Senior Services Exhibits, Senior Physical Activities, Senior Health Care, What Seniors do
for the Community (RSVP), A Senior Dinner and Dance, and the .possibility of a walking
parade in community centers.
Possible shopping and dining discounts for seniors during the week.
Publicity in advance of and during the week.
Discussion included organizational tasks and arranging for participant groups in
various events and/or program items as well as the merit of limiting total events to ensure quality.
Meeting adjourned at 1500 hours.
