Based upon the mileage that the city certified and the population estimates provided by the Montana Department of Commerce, the allocation for the next state fiscal year for Bozeman will be paid out in twelve monthly installments beginning July 2008. Please note that for this year's calculation, the U.S. Census Bureau's 2006 population estimates for Montana's cities and counties are being used. Since population carries equivalent weight in fuel tax calculations as street and alley mileage, any differences in the allocation amounts shown below as compared to last year's allocations maybe due to either or both factors. Also, some cities experienced substantial growth or annexation into their incorporated boundaries. These actions affect the allocation dollars of the rest of the cities whose mileage may not have changed significantly. The table below compares Bozeman's calculated fuel tax allocation amount between state fiscal years 2009 and 2008.
