HomeMy WebLinkAboutCall for Proposal for Construction Inspection ServicesCITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA CALL FOR PROPOSALS Request for Proposals for Construction Inspection Services For City of Bozeman Fire Department Station Number 3 and Gallatin County 911 Communications Center The City of Bozeman and Gallatin County are seeking a qualiEed Engineering Firm to conduct a full range of construction related inspection services far the new City of Bozeman Fire Station #3 and County 911 Communications Center. The facility falls in the category of an essential services structure which requires a higher level of general seismic and other code considerations. Copies of the bid specifications and construction drawing are available from the Architect ofrecord - ThinkOne Design, 101 East Main Street, Studio One, Bozeman, MT 59715. Phone number is 586-7020. The Construction Manager at Risk/ General Contractor for the project is Martel Construction. The construction bid opening, for the project is scheduled for June 24, 2008. The award of bids and construction start will take place in July. The range of services includes: excavation inspection, backfill and compaction testing, concrete, and asphalt testing (including curb, gutter and sidewalk), concrete and masonry walls, structural steel, and rebar. All hand-delivered proposals are due Monday, July 11, 200$, by 4:00 p.m. in the City Clerk's office at City Hall, 411 East Main Street, Bozeman, MT 5971 S. Six (6) copies of the proposal need to be submitted for the selection committee to review. Mailed copies must be received by the 4:00 p.m. deadline on July L 1, 2008 and mailed to the City Clerk, City of Bozeman, P.O. Box 1230, Bozeman, MT 59771. No faxed or electronic copies will be accepted. Proposals will be reviewed with the top choice candidates to be interviewed and a final contract negotiated with the top rated firm. The City of Bozeman and Gallatin County reserve the right to accept ar reject any and all proposals that re non-responsive. Availability and interest in the project and the ability to meet the propased schedule. 2. Ability to work coopexatively with the City, County, owner's consultants, Contractor and the Architect of Record, as demonstrated by references and successful projects. 3. Capability to meet time and project budget requirements as demonstrated by previous projects. 4. Location of firm. 5. Present and projected work-loads. 6. Past and current work in the local area and past history on municipal projects, particularly projects that involve essential service facilities. 7. Identify the staff to be assigned to the project. List experience and capabilities of key personnel. Include resumes and individual references from recent past prOjeCtS. $. An hourly rate for the various professionals and staff to be involved in the work. 9. A recommended scope of work for the project as described. 10. Cost per visit to the site and a proposed number of site visits for the project. This description should include a breakdown for the services offered in each inspection category and the associated number of visits for each task outlined in the proposal. 11. An overview of the reimbursables for this type of project 12. Cost per cylinder set for site testing, collection, break tests and reporting. A proposed number of cylinder tests that will be required based on the scope of construction and bid specifications. 13. Lab test costs for sails compaction. 14. A brief description of other work conducted for the City of Bozeman and Gallatin County specifically.
