COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2516
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN, MONTANA, ESTABLISHING A POLICY FOR PROVISION OF
SECURITY FOR COMMUNITY EVENTS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS.
WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman receives several requests each year for assistance in
providing security for various community events; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman must provide that security through overtime pay for
off-duty pol ice officers; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman has limited financial resources to provide City ser-
vices; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has indicated a specific policy is needed so that all
requests may be considered in the same manner.
NOW, THI:REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION 01- THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN:
Sect ion 1
That the City of Bozeman reserves the right to determine the amount of security nec-
essary for a large community gathering or event. To that end, the City may determine a
minimum number of security persons--sworn and/or non-sworn--and may stipulate the amoupt
of sworn security persons necessary by providing funds to supply a portion of that securit~
for an event.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at
a regular session thereof held on this 23rd day of July 1984.
