COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2483 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A BOARD OF APPEALS TO DETERMINE THE SUITABILITY OF ALTERNATE MATERIALS AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION AND TO PROVIDE REASONABLE INTERPRETATION OF THE BUILDING, PLUMBING, MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL CODES ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF BOZEMAN. WHEREAS, the Uniform Building, Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical Codes have been adopted as the minimum standards for the City of Bozeman: and WHEREAS, each of these four codes provides for the creation of a Board of Appeals to determine the suitability of alternate materials and methods of construction and to provide reasonable interpretation: and WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it advisable and prudent to create a Board of Appeals for the general good of the City of Bozeman. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN: Section 1 That the City Commission of the City of Bozeman hereby establishes a Board of Appeals to determine the suitability of alternate materials and methods of construction and to provide reasonable interpretation of the following codes of the City of Bozeman: 1. Building Code 2. Electrical Code 3. Mechanical Code 4. Plumbing Code Section 2 That the Board of Appeals shall consist of five members, appointed by the City Commission and serving without compensation, who are qualified by experience and training to pass upon matters pertaining to building construction. The Building Official shall be an ex officio member and shall act as Secretary of the Board. tl .'-\~- ;,. y - ~~ I~ -.. ------ - - .. That the initial terms of office shall be as follows: One appointed for one year, two appointed for two years and two appointed for three years. Succeeding appointments shall be for a period of three years. Section 3 That the Board of Appeals shall adopt reasonable written rules and regulations for conducting its business, hear appeals not more than thirty (30) days after filing thereof, and render all decisions and findings in writing to the appellant with a copy to the Building Official.
