COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2459
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOZEMAN REQUESTING THAT THE COUNTY
COMMISSION UNDERTAKE A JOINT STUDY CONCERN-
ING THE POSSIBLE RELOCATION OF THE CITY COURT
TO THE LAW AND JUSTICE CENTER.
WHEREAS, all prisoners are now housed in the Detention Center
located at the Law and Justice Center under an Agreement between the
City of Bozeman and Gallatin County, Montana; and
WHEREAS, all other judicial functions within the city of Bozeman
are located at the Law and Justice Center; and
WHEREAS, the Judicial Coordinating Committee, appointed by
the City Commission, has recently reviewed the operation of the City Court
and recommended a joint study be made into the possibility of relocating
City Court to the Law and Justice Center; and
WHEREAS, relocation of the City Court to the Law and Justice
Center could provide for possible clerical staff cooperation, resulting in
savings to the taxpayers of Gallatin County, Montana, and the City of
Bozeman;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission
of the City of Bozeman, Montana:

That the County Commission of Gallatin County, Montana, be
requested to enter into a joint study on the possible relocation of the
City Court operation to the Law and Justice Center.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of
Bozeman this 20th day of June , 1983.
