RESOLUTION NO. 2448
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA, DECLARING IT TO BE THE INTENTION OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN. MONTANA. TO PROVIDE FIRE SERVICES ONLY INSIDE THE
CITY LIMITS AND WITHIN THOSE LEGALLY FORMED FIRE DISTRICTS
WHICH HAVE CONTRACTED FOR SUCH SERVICES WITH THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS.
WHEREAS. the fire services are supported by the General Fund of the
City of Bozeman through the All Purpose Mill Levy; and
WHEREAS. the property owners of the City of Bozeman are paying for
fire services through their property tax; and
WHEREAS. the City of Bozeman could incur unnecessary and unwanted
liability by providing fire services to those not paying for the service.
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN:
Section 1
That the City of Bozeman will provide fire services only to those
properties inside the corporate limits of the City of Bozeman except as provided
by Section 2 of this Resolution.
Section 2
That the City of Bozeman will provide fire services outside the city
limits to those fire districts legally formed under the laws of the State of

Montana which have contracted with the City of Bozeman to provide such service.

Section 3
Nothingin this Resolution shall be construed in any way to affect any
mutual aid agreement the City is now a party to. or may be in the future.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman. at
a regular and stated session of said City Commission. held on the 25th day of
April 1983.
