COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2446
A RESOLUTION OF THE CO~1ISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, DESIGNATING
A PLAN FOR SNOW REMOVAL FROM CITY
STREETS.
WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman does not have a specific
snow removal plani and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to establish a snow removal
plan for the welfare and safety of the traveling public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOZEMAN:
That, at the beginning of and periodically during a
snow storm, salt, sand, or a similarly effective material
will be spread on streets in the central business district
and other high-use intersections in the citYi
That, the following streets are hereby designated as
snow routes:
1) Willson and South Third, extende~from Olive to
the south city limitsi
2) College from Willson to U.S. 19li
3) Peach and Durston from Rouse to the west
city limits;
4) 11th from Durston to Collegei
5) Cypress and Highland from East Main
to KagYi and
6) Kagy from Highland to South 11th.
That, such snow routes shall be properly signed to inform
the traveling publici
That, it is the policy of the City to begin plowing
when snow accumulation reaches a depth of four inches, and
the snow routes will be plowed before any other streets;
That, in the event of a major snow storm, the City
Manager may designate a snow emergencYi

That, when such an emergency has been designated, it is
mandatory that owners remove their parked vehicles from the
snow routes until they have been cleared. Vehicles not so
removed may be towed away and the owners will be responsible
to pay the towing fees;
That, after the snow routes have been cleared, the
following streets shall be plowed prior to any other streets:
1) North 19th from Main to Durston;
2) South Church from Babcock to the
south city limits;
3) North 15th from Main to Durston;
4) North Wallace from Lamme to the
north city limits;
5) Garfield from Sixth to Rouse;
6) Cleveland from Eighth to Tracy;
7) Grant from Sixth to Willson; and
8) Tamarack from Seventh to Rouse.
That, after the snow routes and streets listed in the
preceding paragraph have been cleared, mail routes in outlying

subdivisions will be plowed;

That, any remaining streets will be plowed as the need
arises, provided, however, that streets from South 11th to
South 14th between Koch and College will not be plowed as it
is necessary to leave the snow accumulation for insulation of
the water mains to minimize the potential of their freezing;
That, when snow accumulation impedes travel in the
central business district, the accumulation will be hauled
away from the streets.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the city
of Bozeman, at a regular session held on the
