COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2439
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN REGARDING THE TRANSFER OF A PORTION OF THE
OLD DUMP SITE TO THE STATE OF MONTANA FOR PARK
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman owns a tract of land approximately 55
acres in the area north of Griffin Drive in Section 31. Township 1 South,
Range 5 East; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman utilized this area as a dump ground and
the land now sits vacant and unusable for development other than park or open
space; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Administrative Trustees and the Advisory Board
to the joint City. County and School District No. 7 Recreation Department
have recommended that the area. including an adjacent gravel pit site, be
proposed to the Montana Legislature for element as a park utilizing the Coal
Tax Park Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the Bozeman City Commission endorse the concept of a State
regional park utilizing the vacant gravel pit and a portion of the abandoned
dump site;
2. That the City of Bozeman by act of the Bozeman City Commission
hereby agrees to transfer title and interest in approximately 47 acres of the

property it owns in Section 31, Township 1 South. Range 6 East, to the State
of Montana. in the event money is appropriated by the Legislature to purchase
the adjacent gravel pit site and develop the area into a State park.
PROVISIONALLY ADOPTED this 22nd day of November 1982.
