A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, ESTABLISH-
ING A UNIFORM TRAVEL POLICY FOR ALL
MUNICIPAL OFFICERS AND EMPLOYERS.
WHEREAS, Section 7-5-4142, MCA, provides only a broad
statement regarding attendance at meetings and conventions
by municipal officers and employees; and
WHEREAS, Section 7-5-4142, MCA, is mute as it applies
to reimbursement for attendance at meetings and conventions;
and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Commission of
the City of Bozeman to establish a uniform travel policy for
all municipal officers and employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN:
Section 1
No officer or employee of the City of Bozeman shall
receive payment from any public funds for attendance at
meetings or conventions except those expenses (registration,
lodging, transportation and meals) incurred solely by and
for the officer or employee as a result of attendance at
such meeting or convention.
Section 2
That claims for reimbursement must be submitted to the
Department of Finance not more than thirty (30) days after
the conclusion of the meeting or convention for which reim-
bursement is being sought; that receipts shall accompany the
claim for all expenditures except meals or as otherwise noted;
that nothing in this section shall prohibit the submittal of
a claim for advance registration and/or air travel.

Section 4
The guidelines for meals and lodging as enumerated in
Section 3 above, may be exceeded by City Commissioners when
so authorized in advance by the City Commission as a whole,
and may be exceeded by City employees when so authorized in
advance by the City Manager.
